Local county and city road crews are working hard to keep motorists safe this

TDOT spokesman Mark Nagi told The Advocate & Democrat
TDOT has used more than 47,000 tons of salt in East Tennessee so far this winter and nearly 1.2
million gallons of brine on the roads.
TDOT still has about 46,000 tons of salt on hand for East Tennessee.
"We are fine as far as supplies are concerned," Nagi said.
TDOT trucks have been seen across Monroe County today
as Winter Storm Pax moves in.
obviously, if snow and ice continue, it could put a strain on local and state highway
