MADISONVILLE-Almost exactly 24 hours

arrested two women after he spotted them barely able to control their
Williams said the first incident
occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday when he was traveling southbound on
Highway 68 when a car coming in the other direction crossed the
center line and almost struck his patrol car.
Williams turned around and stopped the
car, finding the driver to be Jamie Madonna Denton, 28, Maxwell Road,
Madisonville. Williams said Denton was very nervous and he asked her
if she had anything illegal in the car. She said she didn't and he
could search the vehicle if he wanted.
Williams did and allegedly found
several Alprazolam pills and a pipe in her purse, a second glass pipe
with a white residue on it, two snorting straws and a grinder. While
he was doing this, another deputy on the scene noticed Denton stick
her hand down the front of her pants. While she was being taken to
the jail, Capt. Travis Jones said Denton kept moving around in the
backseat and when he got her out of the car, he found a container
with a pill inside believed to be some kind amphetamine.
