SWEETWATER-It's an exciting time in
Sweetwater with the third annual National Muscadine Festival
beginning Friday evening and a major announcement for the city coming
at the gazebo at noon Friday.
The Muscadine Festival actually gets
under way at Tsali Notch Vineyard at 10 a.m. Friday. The Vineyard is
located between Madisonville and Sweetwater.
While that is going on, city officials
will gather at the downtown gazebo at 12 p.m. for a big announcement
on a major achievement for the city, the culmination of years of hard
work to reach a lofty status. However, the city cannot talk about the
achievement until the official announcement Friday.
Friday evening the scene shifts to
downtown Sweetwater again with South Bound's live concert at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the festival heats up with
the Muscadine Parade down Main Street at 10 a.m. to kick off a full
day of activities.
On Sunday, the talent
contest--Sweetwater's Got Talent--gets under way at noon in the

the Muscadine Festival and the weather is expected to be outstanding
for most the the three-day event with sunny skies and highs around 80
degrees before a few clouds move in Sunday with a slight chance of
rain later in the day.
The Muscadine Festival is organized by
the Sweetwater Merchants and Property Owners Association.
