MADISONVILLE-A Madisonville man who was
recently indicted on a murder charge was really desperate to get a
car Friday afternoon, according to police.
Both the Monroe County Sheriff's
Office and the Madisonville Police Department said Josh Anderson was
in the middle of Tellico Street at various times, stopping cars and
demanding the drivers get out. When they refused, Anderson allegedly
threw rocks at their vehicles or otherwise threatened them.
One woman said Anderson jumped on the
hood of her truck and made scratches on it with two rocks he was
holding. When the woman attempted to drive away, Anderson allegedly
threw the rocks at her windshield, causing damages to the entire
Another driver said he had to stop to
keep from hitting Anderson and told him to get out of the road.
Anderson responded by tearing the bug deflector off the man's truck
and then trying to pull the man from the truck.
The driver and Anderson got into a
fight and Anderson reportedly bit the man on his arm and hit him in
the nose. Anderson demanded a ride and the man agreed, but when
Anderson went to get in the passenger side, the man drove away.
