SWEETWATER-The Sweetwater Board of
Education held its first meeting in the brand new Central Office
building Monday.
While basking in the glow of new
surroundings, board members did learn more about Common Core
Standards and the new online assessments to go along with them and
the technology required for students to take the exams.
The Common Core State Standards are a
set of standards for math and English Language Arts that were
developed to ensure every student graduates high school prepared for
college or the workforce, according to the Tennessee Department of
