SWEETWATER-Have you ever been to a
surprise party or reunion where the guest of honor was really, really
surprised to see everyone?
That was the case recently when former
employees of the old Valley Restaurant in Sweetwater and friends and
family gathered at the Dinner Bill to surprise Carolyn Bivens, who
ran the restaurant her family had started for many years with her
late husband, Bill.

Bivens, who came from Tellico Plains for the dinner and immediately
had her eyes fill with tears when she saw everyone gathered.
"I didn't have a clue. I thought it
was my hundredth birthday," Bivens joked as she settled in to enjoy
the good times. See full story in the Sunday, March 17, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
