MADISONVILLE-After nearly two
years, a Madisonville is scheduled to go on trial today for allegedly killing a man while
allegedly stealing his car. But Ralph Hunt has had trials
scheduled before. Hunt was scheduled to go on trial October in
the 2011 killing of Gerald Strickland, but it was called off after the state couldn't get the
medical examiner in court. The trial was postponed in May after a detective couldn't make it due
to a family illness. Judge Amy Reedy wasn't happy with the state
last October, saying they should have called and made sure everybody was on board instead of
sending out subpoenas and hoping everybody got them. Hunt's
attorney asked that his bond be lowered from $1,253,000 to $250,000, but Reedy denied the
request. See full story in the Sunday,
