As The Advocate & Democrat first
published last week, the former TMI/TMG campus has been listed as "endangered" by a preservation alliance committed to saving East
Tennessee landmarks.
The East Tennessee Preservation
Alliance (ETPA) published a list of 17 endangered historic buildings
and places in a 16-county region. The announcement took place
at the East Tennessee History Center in Knoxville and the list now
appears on the Knox Heritage website: www.knoxheritage.org. The old Monroe County Health Department
made the list as well.
This marks the fourth list of
endangered historic places selected by the ETPA Board of Directors
from nominations received from members and the general public, the
alliance said in a release on the website. See full story in The Wednesday, March 6, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
