SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL-When Tennessee
Commissioner of Education Kevin Huffman stood before several hundred
Monroe County and Sweetwater City teachers at Sequoyah High School on
Friday, he had by then visited with more than 9,000 Tennessee
teachers this year.
Huffman came to Monroe County on a
teacher in-service day, speaking and taking questions for about an
hour. He also visited with Monroe County Director of Schools Mike
Lowry and Sweetwater City Schools Director Dr. Melanie Miller before
continuing a full day's schedule traveling.
"The perception is that American
education is in decline," Huffman said. ""he data shows the
opposite." See full story in the Wednesday, Feb. 20, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
