The newly completed cafeteria at Tellico Plains Elementary School is open for the students and staff. 

It is a major improvement over the old shared cafeteria/gym space. Bright, airy, open and welcoming are some words used to describe the new addition, school officials said. Work continues on remodeling classrooms and gym and is scheduled to be completed in the next few weeks.

A major renovation is also ongoing at Vonore Elementary School in the county system.
