SWEETWATER-Sweetwater's finances have
improved in recent months and it has helped the city move forward on
some equipment and other needs.
During the Nov. 5 board meeting, city
commissioners unanimously agreed to hire an assistant codes
enforcement officer. Codes and Planning Commissioner Sam Moser said
Chuck Whited was the best candidate for the job and Moser's fellow
commissioners approved his choice.
The commission passed the final reading
of sign ordinance amendments, which will cut down on the sign clutter
around town, commissioners believe.
The commission agreed to purchase a new
vehicle lift for the Street Department from Doug's Auto Parts.
"We have an unsafe condition," Street Commissioner Buster West said of the old equipment.
The board agreed and bought the lift
for just under $7,900.
In other business, the board passed the
final ordinance reading annexing the MCH property near Head of the
Creek Road.
