A Loudon man was arrested Saturday
after he allegedly grabbed a juvenile from behind and hugged and
kissed her.
Sweetwater Police Sgt. Kris King said
he went to Kmart and talked with the juvenile and two witnesses who
said a man identified as William Clowers, Highway 725, Loudon,
allegedly came up behind the juvenile, wrapped his arms around her,
forcibly kissed her on the cheek and tried to turn her around so he
could kiss her on the mouth.
One of the witnesses told King as soon
as she realized the juvenile didn't know the man, she yelled at him
to stop and the man left the store.
The two witnesses followed him out to
his car and pointed him out when King arrived.
Clowers admitted to King he didn't
know the juvenile and admitted what he'd done, but said he had no
idea why he did it.
King said the incident was captured by
a security camera and charged Clowers with sexual battery to a minor.
