Classes on Active Parenting will be conducted by Rev. Mike Chamberlain, pastor of Madisonville Presbyterian Church. This 12-hour non-denominational course will be offered in four sessions of three hours each to be held on Sunday afternoons from 3-5 p.m. in the fellowship hall, March 21, 28, April 11 and 18. No class Easter Sunday.
Participants will learn simple yet effective parenting skills that will lead to more harmony for you and your children. You'll leave each session energized and motivated to make changes in your family's daily routine that will lead to greater happiness in every room of the house.
The 3-session workshop will show effective ways to: • Use non-violent discipline techniques that work. • Improve communication between you and your children. • Teach responsibility and other important values. • Handle problems as they come up. • Cope with difficult topics such as drugs, violence and sex. • Defuse power struggles with your children. • Stimulate independence as your child grows older. • Encourage your children to be their very best.
Cost is $14, which is the cost of the book used during the class. If you choose not to purchase the book, the course is free.
To register, contact the church office at 442-2170 (Leave your name and phone number, call will be returned as soon as possible). You can also contact Gail Henley at 442-3400.
