The Monroe County Red Cross is having a fundraiser for the people of Haiti Saturday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A roadblock will be set up at New Highway 68 and Englewood in Madisonville and at Highway 11 and Monroe Street in Sweetwater. All proceeds will be going to Haiti.

The Red Cross also is accepting cash and check donations at the Red Cross office located at 203 Monroe Street in Sweetwater.

People also can donate by texting  HAITI to 90999. A $10 donation will be made with 100 percent of it going to the Red Cross for Haiti relief. Or people can donate online at www.redcross.org.
