A drug investigation led to multiple arrests on methamphetamine charges near Tellico Plains on Saturday. According to a police report and warrants filed by Monroe County Sheriff's Office Drug Officer Conway Mason, officers responded to a residence at 103 Walker Road.
Captain Bill Johnson told the other officers he had found a one-pot methamphetamine shake bottle in plain sight inside an outbuilding. Mason got permission from the owners, Billy Burris and Scott Burris, to search the property. Mason said officers found numerous items on the property used to manufacture meth, including ammonia nitrate, empty pseudo-ephedrine blister packs, fertilizer, tubing, lye and other items.
Billy Burris, 46, was charged with two counts of initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine. Authorities also charged Scott Burris, 47, with two counts of initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine. Another person who lives at the residence, Stephanie Wise, 29, was charged with two counts of initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine.
Josh Bunch, 25, Towee Falls Road, was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after investigators allegedly found hypodermic needles and a metal spoon inside his car at the residence.
